AI Summary
Sacramento County DHS requests proposals for case management and utilization management services under the Medically Indigent Services Program to ensure coordinated care for uninsured low-income adults, emphasizing fiscal accountability and timely claims processing.
The Sacramento County Department of Health Services (DHS) is seeking qualified organizations to provide comprehensive Case Management (CM) and Utilization Management (UM) services for individuals enrolled in the County Medically Indigent Services Program (CMISP), including claims adjudication. This initiative is intended to ensure medically indigent residents receive timely, appropriate, and coordinated care while promoting responsible stewardship of limited public resources.
The CMISP model emphasizes:
CMISP provides access to medically necessary health care for uninsured, low-income adults who do not qualify for Medi-Cal or other coverage. Recent federal policy changes House Resolution 1 (H.R. 1) may increase demand for CMISP as some residents lose Medi-Cal eligibility.
The County’s objective is to preserve continuity of care for medically vulnerable populations while maintaining fiscal sustainability.
