      Alameda Municipal Power (AMP) is seeking quotes from qualified bidders to furnish 15kV 900a deadbreak housing 1000kcmil elbow - Richards Manufacturing item 91CS8HT3QR5 - based on specialized specifications and compatibility to match other materials for our projects per PCC Article IV 3400(c)(2), No alternative nor Equal shall be accepted. Lead time may be considered, and all bidders are expected to add their lead time information in Pricing table.

      Quotes must be valid till end of May 2026 and successful winner also must honor their proposed pricing at the time of shipping the order.

    • Local Preference Rule

      The local preference rule is set forth in Article V. Chapter II of the Municipal Code.  The evaluation of a contract for the performance of personal services, upon written application noted on the space provided on the City bid or proposal documents, there shall be extended a five (5%) percent preference for local businesses defined in this section, provided however, that all such contracts shall be awarded on the basis of demonstrated competence and on the professional qualifications necessary for the satisfactory performance of the services required. The evaluation of bids or proposals for the award of all contracts for the purchase or lease of supplies, materials, equipment or other personal property, a local business shall, upon written application noted on the space provided on City bid or proposal documents, there shall be extended a five (5%) percent preference for local businesses. The awarding officer shall consider the quality offered and its conformity with the specifications, the delivery and discount terms and conditions, the service reputation of the bidder, and other information and data required to prove the lowest responsible bidder.
       
      Local business are defined in the Municipal Code as a business firm with fixed offices or local taxable distribution points within the boundaries of the City of Alameda which hold a current business license with an Alameda business address which is not a Post Office box.  Bidder shall clearly indicate if he or she believes they qualify for this preference and submit Local Business Declaration form.  The final determination of qualification for Alameda Bidder's preference rests with AMP.

    • Rights of AMP

      This RFQ does not commit AMP to enter into an agreement, nor does it obligate AMP to pay for any costs incurred in preparation and submission of proposals or in anticipation of an agreement. AMP reserves the right to:

      •    Make the selection based on its sole discretion;
      •    Reject any and all quotations and cancel the RFQ at any time;
      •    Issue subsequent RFQs;
      •    Postpone opening for its own convenience;
      •    Remedy technical errors in the RFQ process;
      •    Approve or disapprove the use of particular sub consultants or subcontractors;
      •    Negotiate with any, all or none of the Bidders;
      •    Accept other than the lowest offer;
      •    Select quotations on an item-by-item basis;
      •    Award more than one Agreement from this solicitation;
      •    Waive informalities and irregularities in the quotations and/or
      •    Enter into an agreement with another Bidder in the event the originally selected Bidder defaults or fails to execute an agreement with AMP.

      An Agreement shall not be binding or valid with AMP unless and until it is executed by authorized representatives of AMP and of the Bidder.
