ENG 26-063 Comprehensive Transportation Safety Action Plan

The City of Avondale (the “City”) is issuing this Request For Qualifications (this “RFQ”) seeking statements of qualifications (“SOQ”) from qualified, licensed firms (“Vendors”) interested in providing consulting services to research and draft a comprehensive Safety Action Plan for the City of Avondale (the “Services”).

Background

The City of Avondale (City) is a fast-growing community in the Phoenix Metro area. By 2030, Avondale’s population is expected to increase by 25%. The rapidly growing population is resulting in an increased number of crashes, and in response, the City secured $700,000 in City and Federal funds to develop the Safety Action Plan and Demonstration Plan through the Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) grant. The City desires to develop a comprehensive safety action plan to help address the community’s current and future safety needs. The narrative below highlights some safety and demographic characteristics of the community.
