The project will be to improve the operation at the intersection of Etiwanda Ave and Airport Dr/Slover Ave. There is a large volume of truck traffic which uses this intersection causing significant traffic delays for vehicles traveling to and from I-10. The project is located at the Intersection of Etiwanda Ave and Airport Dr/Slover Ave about 2000’ south of I10/Etiwanda Ave interchange. It is situated along the border of City of Fontana and City of Ontario. The proposed improvements at this intersection include street widening, retaining walls and median construction to accommodate an additional northbound through lane and creation of dual left and/or dual right turn lanes for various approach legs of Etiwanda Ave and Airport Dr/Slover Ave. Traffic signal modification, drainage improvements, water system upgrades and private property reconstruction will be required for the widening improvements. The project will construct missing sidewalk and streetlights along the limits of construction to improve pedestrian access and safety.
