The City of Sugar Land is seeking quotes from qualified vendors for a service agreement to provide preventative maintenance and repairs of vehicle exhaust systems at Sugar Land fire stations.

Evaluation Criteria

• Requirements for Quote Submission —

  The City's current equipment manufacterer is the Nederaman Vehicle Exhaust System. Vendors that wish to submit a quote should be familiar with, and capable of, interacting with the make and model of the current equipment.

  Interested vendors should incorporate the following services into their quote:

  Base Service Agreement

  • Annual inspection of vehicle exhaust systems at all seven fire stations.
    • Location list included below
    • Minimum annual inspection included below
  • Comprehensive post-inspection report
  • Repair recommendations based on findings

  Additional Services

  • Post inspection repairs or part installations at daily flat rate
  • Parts discount (if applicable)

  If the City chooses to move forward with a formal contract, duration will be one year with the option to renew annually.

• Annual Inspection Scope —

  Interested vendors should be prepared to offer the following in their annual inspection at each station. This list should serve as the minimum inspection requirements.

  • Check and clean internal contact surface of the nozzle and the net screen inside the nozzle
  • Check the electro-magnetic operation, the attachment, and the connector. Clean the magnet
  • Magnetic holder on the vehicle
  • Check the hose carrier
  • Check the operation of the balance block; make sure the hose lifts up properly
  • Check the runners of the balance block
  • Check the operation of the balance block
  • Check the cable connection for the balance block
  • Check the circuit breaker positioned on the balance block
  • Check the break-pin and operation
  • Check all hoses
  • Check the guide rail spring pin
  • Check the mechanical connections
  • Overall condition of ductwork
  • Mechanical support structure
  • Fan activation and function
  • Check for any physical damage
  • Grease points on fan
