For purposes of this solicitation, "local" is defined as produce grown within 150 miles and “regional” is defined as produce grown within 300 miles of the Saint Louis Zoo. The Zoo seeks to increase procurement from local and regional producers, strengthen the regional food system, reduce transportation impacts, provide educational opportunities, and improve access to fresh seasonal products. Small, emerging, and family-owned farms are encouraged to submit proposals. This procurement shall be conducted using a Best-Value methodology.
