    Description

    Lift Station 9 and 10 - Furnishing and installing Aluminum Platforms, wet wells, valve vaults and duplex pumping system with the associated electrical work and site work. Improvements include adjacent force mains and gravity sewers.

    Lift Stations 11, 28, 39 and 80 -   Furnishing and installing Aluminum Platforms with the associated electrical work and site work.

The final number of project signs will be determined at the beginning of the project based on the Contractor’s schedule of work submitted for approval. Additional project signs may be required at no additional cost to the city due to the Contractor’s schedule of work.

      The affiant, by virtue of confirming below, certifies that:

      1. The Contractor and its Subcontractors are aware of the requirements of Florida Statute 448.095.
      2. The Contractor and its Subcontractors are registered with and using the E-Verify system to verify the work authorization status of newly hired employees.
      3. The Contractor will not enter into a contract with any Subcontractor unless each party to the contract registers with and uses the E-Verify system.
      4. The Subcontractor will provide the Contractor with an affidavit stating that the Subcontractor does not employ, contract with, or subcontract with unauthorized alien.
      5. The Contractor must maintain a copy of such affidavit.
      6. The City may terminate this Contract on the good faith belief that the Contractor or its Subcontractors knowingly violated Florida Statutes 448.09(1) or 448.095(2)(c).
      7. If this Contract is terminated pursuant to Florida Statute 448.095(2)(c), the Contractor may not be awarded a public contract for at least 1 year after the date on which this Contract was terminated.
      8. The Contractor is liable for any additional cost incurred by the City as a result of the termination of this Contract.

LS 9 and LS 10 - Control Panel shall be manufactured by Xylem, Unitron Controls, C2i Controls or approved equal. LS 35 - Telescoping Panel shall be manufactured by Primex or approved equal.

The Primex location servicing the City of Clearwater is local to Largo, FL, and we have prior experience supplying lift station control panels to the City of Clearwater. Additionally, we have extensive experience designing and manufacturing lift station control panels for multiple municipalities both locally and regionally, including St. Petersburg, Safety Harbor, Pinellas County, Manatee County, Hillsborough County, Pasco County, Hernando County, and others both in and out of state. Primex also offers a standard two‑year out‑of‑the‑box warranty. Please advise if possible, if there is a specific procedure or documentation that Primex must follow or submit in order to meet the criteria for approval as an Approved Equal for this project. -Thanks for the support Jay S.

    A: "The Contractor can submit a Substitute and “Or Equal” Item to the City and Engineer for review and approval after the Contractor’s Notice of Award. If the City does not approve of the Substitute and “Or Equal” Item, the Contractor will be required to furnish and install the material or equipment per the City’s specifications and standards. Reference General Conditions, Section 6.3 Substitutes and “Or Equal” Items. 6.3 SUBSTITUTES AND ""OR EQUAL"" ITEMS Whenever an item of material or equipment is specified or described in the Contract Documents by using the name of a proprietary item or the name of a particular Supplier, the specification or description is intended to establish the type, function and quality required. Unless the specification or description contains or is followed by words reading that no like, equivalent or ""or equal"" item or no substitution is permitted, other items of material or equipment or material or equipment of other Suppliers may be accepted by Engineer. If in Engineer's sole discretion an item of material or equipment proposed by Contractor is functionally equal to that named and sufficiently similar so that no change in related Work will be required, it may be considered by Engineer for approval. Request for substitute and ""or equal"" items by the Contractor must be submitted in writing to Owner’s Representative and will contain all the information as Engineer deems necessary to make a determination. Request for substitute shall identify why a substitute is submitted and include advantages to the Owner. All data provided by Contractor in support of any proposed substitute or ""or equal"" item will be at Contractor's expense. The Engineer will be allowed a reasonable time to evaluate each proposal or submittal made per this paragraph. The Engineer will be sole judge of acceptability."
