    Description

    Questions shalkl be received for review and answer until Monday March 30, 2026 at 10:30am. Answers will be provided by close of business on Tuesday March 31, 2026. The Maryland Department of Health, Springfield Hospital Center (SHC) is seeking the services of a contractor to conduct testing, inspections, and repairs of all Fire Monitoring, Alarming, and Protection Systems. This procurement is being solicited to obtain services that include one year of quarterly, semi-annual, and annual tests and inspections, and emergency repairs of all Fire Monitoring, Alarming, and Protection systems in buildings on the campus of SHC. The Contract will include all Fire Alarm Control Systems and component parts, Fire Sprinkler Systems and component parts, and Fire Suppression Hood Systems, throughout the SHC campus, located at 6655 Sykesville Road, Sykesville, Maryland. Springfield Hospital Center is fully Joint Commission accredited and CMS certified and is an integral part of the mental health services delivery system of the State of Maryland. Springfield Hospital Center provides safe, effective care, evaluation and treatment services to individuals who have serious mental illness and individuals referred by legal authority for evaluation and treatment. Springfield Hospital Center is accredited by the Joint Commission and certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid. Springfield Hospital Center has an average daily inpatient population of 220 patients. Reliability of the fire detection systems and sprinkler systems is essential to the normal function of the Center. Failure of the above systems to operate properly can create a life/safety hazard for the employees and clients. Because of this all equipment and or system tests shall be performed as recommended by the original equipment manufacturer or by NFPA standards. The Contractor shall at all times execute the work in a manner which shall not interfere with the operation and daily routine carried on by the Center.
