      Notice is hereby given that the City of Monterey ("City") will receive electronic bids for Fire Extinguisher Inspection, Maintenance, and Service Contract until Tuesday, April 21, 2026, 2:00 pm Pacific Time at which time they will be publicly, electronically opened and viewable on the City's e-Procurement Portal (OpenGov Procurement). Bids shall be valid for 90 Days after the bid opening date.

      Bidders may obtain a copy of the Contract Documents at no charge from the City's electronic bid management system, OpenGov Procurement, at https://procurement.opengov.com/portal/cityofmonterey or by calling Courtney Gaskins, (831) 646-5699.

      All bidders must register on OpenGov Procurement. To receive registration instructions call the Purchasing Division at (831) 646-5699 or visit https://help.procurement.opengov.com/en/collections/1392366-vendor-guides  for registration instructions. Bids must be submitted on the City's Bid Forms.

      It is the responsibility of each prospective bidder to download all bid documents for review before submitting a bid. Any Addenda will be posted on OpenGov Procurement. It is the responsibility of each prospective bidder to check OpenGov Procurement on a daily basis through the close of bids for any applicable addenda or updates. The City does not assume any liability or responsibility based on any defective or incomplete copying, scanning, downloading or printing of the bid documents.       1. I am aware that California Labor Code § 3700(a) and (b) provides:
        “Every employer except the state shall secure the payment of compensation in one or more of the following ways:
        1. By being insured against liability to pay compensation in one or more insurers duly authorized to write compensation insurance in this state.
        2. By securing from the Director of Industrial Relations a certificate of consent to self-insure either as an individual employer, or one employer in a group of employers, which may be given upon furnishing proof satisfactory to the Director of Industrial Relations of ability to self-insure and to pay any compensation that may become due to their employees.”
