The overall goal of the service is to improve safety by reducing crashes, traffic delays and congestion. The FST will NOT provide towing services to convey a disabled vehicle to an automotive service facility, place of residence, or other location beyond the immediate vicinity or designated drop-off locations of the highways or freeways. These services enhance the safety and efficiency of subsequent operations by private towing service providers that convey vehicles from designated drop-off locations. This procurement will have multiple routes with durations between one and seven years. The bid will be awarded per Route number as listed in Attachment B, Bid Price Sheet. WisDOT intends to award on Contractor per Route.
