Goethe Forest Wide 25/26 Salvage Sale
The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Florida Forest Service is seeking sealed bids for the sale of timber. This is as needed per unit salvage sale that includes dead and green pine timber within Goethe State Forest, located in Alachua and Levy Counties, Florida (see attached location map). The salvage timber will be designated by the Forester-in-Charge or his representative and could include scattered clumps of trees infected or dying from insect and disease attacks; trees within roads and transmission lines rights-of-way; trees within borrow pit expansion areas; trees within research plots; trees in proposed oil well sites; or trees damaged from destructive forces of nature, or other trees as designated by the Forester-in-Charge. The salvage sale as stated in the contract is based on an as needed basis as determined by the Forester-in-Charge. All harvesting operations must start within ten (10) days of notification. The buyer will not be required to harvest timber that is not merchantable or to harvest timber located in an area, as determined by the Forester-in-Charge, to be of insufficient size or economically unviable to harvest.
