    The Village of New Berlin was awarded a 2025 NYS Community Development Block Grant of $2,000,000. for the Village's Drinking Water Infrastructure Improvement Project, currently estimated at $18.645 Million. The Village is seeking proposals from qualified consultants, with demonstrated records of accomplishment in undertaking similar projects, to assist the Village in meeting the program requirements as outlined by the Ofiice of Community Renewal. Contract one is a project to be in mid-to-late spring 2026, with construction scheduled to start in late July running through August 2027. Contract two is scheduled to awarded in August 2026 with construction scheeuled to start in Ocotber 2026, running early 2028. The selected consultant will be involved in managing relevant funds to ensure compliance with HUD regulations. Key tasks include working with other projct consultants (engineer, fiscal advisor, bond counsel, local counsel) and Village maintaining comprehensive documentation. Administrators must monitor project progress and ensure National Objective compliance (e.g. benefitting low/moderate-incomme persons.)
