Since launching the program, over 60 businesses have been certified (including five city facilities). Every certified business has been recognized at an annual City Council proclamation, followed by an informal mixer with the growing green business community. City staff coordinate closely with the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce’s Green Business Committee, attending Chamber-sponsored events such as the annual Green Business Expo to promote the program.On November 12, 2024, the City Council approved the Climate Action Plan (CAP) Update, which outlines updated strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote environmental sustainability.
