    Description

Public Action to Deliver Shelter, Inc. dba Hesed House is a homeless shelter whose mission is to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and shelter the homeless. Hesed House has received funding from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the City of Aurora to expand the Family Shelter to the entire 1st floor at 659 South River Street. The area is approximately 8,100 square feet located at 659 S. River St in Aurora, IL. The project includes but is not limited to demo of an old building interior and construction of new family shelter living area with offices and bathrooms.

Hesed House is an existing, functioning facility operating year-round, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, whose operations must be disrupted as little as possible by these construction activities. We will still be using the entire 2nd floor of the building. This project is being bid as Time and Material in order to allow Hesed House to maximize its service to the community during construction by separating construction areas from occupied areas. Once bids are received, Hesed House will determine the timing of the phases of the projects. Hesed House will write one contract with a selected contractor. The selected Contractor can subcontract additional trades if necessary.
