The Barbados Water Authority (BWA) is a municipality responsible for locating, transmitting and distributing water on the island of Barbados. We are currently in the process of installing a desalination plant at the Hope located in the Parish of St. Lucy on the north of the island. To this end, 8” PVC Certa-Lok splined connected drop pipe have been drawn down from storage to be used in 2 saltwater boreholes, Grundfos SP95- 8R Rp5 6" 50 pumps are to be used in each borehole. The depth of the bore holes are 39.6m (130ft) and the static water levels are approximately 20m (65.6ft). The internal diameter of the borehole sleeves are 389.128mm (15.32”). The head of both pumps are fitted with Grundfos stainless steel Rp5 male x DN150 (6”) PN40 flange adapters which are to be connected to the 8” Certa-Lok drop pipe. The Certa-Lok drop pipe is also to connect to the bottom of a pedestal on the well head by way of a PN16 DN200 EN1092-1 Super duplex flange.
