    Description

    This solicitation will be issued through BidNet's Maryland Purchasing Group (https://www.bidnetdirect.com/maryland/montgomerycounty). In the spirit of continuous improvement, Montgomery County utilizes this platform to post solicitations and accept electronic responses from vendors. Registration is required and FREE for all Montgomery County solicitations by selecting the "Limited" option upon registration. IF YOU NEED HELP REGISTERING, please call BidNet Direct's Support Department at 800-835-4603. The Contractor must remove vehicles from The Shady Grove Road Processing Facility and Transfer Station within two hours of the received request. The contractor will determine when the tow request is made what equipment is necessary. The County requestor will confirm and accept which equipment is being dispatched. Contractor will provide storage information where the destination for towed vehicles is located, and fees assigned to the vehicle owner if any fees are charged to recover the vehicle. The vehicle owner must contact the hauler for information on storage location. The County will post signs that state where abandoned vehicles will be towed at the vehicle owner's expense with contact information for the towing company. Vehicles in question can range from passenger cars to heavy-duty trucks such as trash trucks (various cubic yard sizes, up to 25 cubic yards). Vehicles to be towed are classified as follows: Light duty: F-150, F250, F350, or equivalent-sized vehicles and equipment that are 14,000 GVWR or less. Medium duty: F-450, F-550, or F-650 or equivalent-sized vehicles and equipment 14,001-26,000 GVWR. Heavy duty is defined as Class 7 & 8 vehicles and equipment over 26,000 GVWR. The Facilities operate Monday through Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., excluding holidays listed on the County website at https://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/dep/trash-recycling/holidays.html.
