PROJECT DESCRIPTION:The NFTA (Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority) owns and operates 44 NovaBus Low Floor Series (LFS) buses which have a ZF manufactured model AV132II/90 rear drive drop axle with a 5.13:1 gear ratio.It is the intent of this specification to procure new, a minimum of one (1) and, up to five (5) ZF manufactured model AV132II/90 rear drop axle assembly(s) with a 5.13:1 gear ratio.The initial purchase provides the NFTA with a swing unit to replace an axle which needs internal repair and return the bus back into revenue service as soon as possible. The removed axle will be overhauled (if possible) and be the subsequent swing unit (axle) Should future defective axles be found in a condition which prevents a successful overhaul, it would initiate the next axle purchase.
