Currently, ITS is responsible for coordinating restoration of outside plant fiber and copper cabling in support of 50+ New York State Executive Agencies with locations statewide. Additionally, and in service to those agencies, ITS periodically receives outside plant repair and maintenance work requests that require a comprehensive diagnostic analysis of and repair solution for defective fiber optic and/or copper cable. The State is tasked with approximately 10-15 critical outside plant repair and maintenance requests per year that fall beyond the parameters of existing statewide contracts. Work requests of this nature require a vendor to (a) provide immediate response in an emergent or on-demand capacity, (b) have an expertise in pinpointing cable connectivity failures, and (c) possess the ability to restore (or replace) impacted segments of State-owned copper and fiber optic cable facilities.
