The estimated construction cost is $1,580,000. DCAMM Certification is required. Funding is contingent on a vote at Annual Town Meeting in May. Contract award is expected in early June. Bid Documents will be available starting at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at projectdog.com. Project number 872590. Drawings and specifications may be viewed and downloaded free of charge; registration with a valid email is required to create a free account and be added to the plan holders list to receive addenda. A non-mandatory pre-bid conference will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 08:00 AM local time at 300 Hillside Ave., Needham, MA. After the meeting, a walk around the premises will occur. All bidders are strongly encouraged to attend. All General Bid and Filed-Sub-bid proposals shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the value of the bid. Bid deposits, payable to the ”Town of Needham” shall be in the form of either a BID BOND, or a CERTIFIED or TREASURER’S CHECK issued by a responsible bank or trust company. Cash and company checks are not acceptable. Filed Sub-Bids are required for the following trades: Tile, Plumbing, HVAC, Electrical SEALED BIDS FOR FILED SUB-BIDS are due @ 2:30PM on, Thursday April 2, 2026, and SEALED BIDS FOR GENERAL CONTRACTRACTORS are due @ 2:30PM on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at the Public Services Admin. Building, 1st Floor, DPW Admin Office, 500 Dedham Ave, Needham, MA 02492 until the bid deadlines @ 2:30PM and will be publicly opened and read in the Charles River Room immediately afterword. Results shall be distributed to all registered plan holders via Addendum. Bidding procedures and award of Contract and Subcontracts are subject to the provisions of the General Laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (MGL) Chapter 149, Sections 44A to 44J inclusive; applicable sections of MGL Chapter 30; MGL Chapter 674 of the Acts of 1981, and “Construction Reform” amendments contained in MGL Chapter 193 of the 2004.
