The San Francisco International Airport ("Airport" or “SFO”) is operated by the City and County of San Francisco (the “City”) acting by and through its Airport Commission. This Request for Information (hereinafter “RFI”) is being issued by SFO. SFO is seeking information from potential suppliers about the capabilities, features, and benefits of innovative cleaning equipment, to assist SFO staff to maximize the level of cleanliness and safety for customers.
This RFI is a request for information only; it does not constitute a competitive solicitation; it will not result in the award of any contract to a supplier. The City may use the information received in response to this RFI in formulating a detailed Request for Qualifications (“RFQ”) or Request for Proposals (“RFP”), which then could result in the award of contract(s). The City may ask for additional or clarifying information in response to information received in response to this RFI. As part of this RFI process, SFO may request on-site demonstration(s). Respondents should direct all questions to the SFO Contact Person identified on page 1 and the SFO Contact Person is the only person that should be contacted regarding this RFI.
The anticipated schedule for this RFI is set forth above. These dates are tentative and subject to change. It is the responsibility of the Respondent to check for any Addenda to this RFI or other published pertinent information.
SFO is one of the busiest airports in the United States, serving millions of passengers annually. To maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, SFO is exploring the integration of advanced technologies, including innovative cleaning equipment. This equipment is expected to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of SFO's custodial operations and help ensure a world-class environment for travelers and staff. SFO faces several challenges in maintaining cleanliness across its vast and busy facilities:
Due to these challenges, SFO is seeking innovative cleaning equipment options to assist SFO staff to maximize the level of cleanliness, comfort and safety for customers.
All documents under this process, including responses and communications between the City and Respondents, may be subject to public disclosure per the California Public Records Act (California Government Code Section §7920.000 et seq.) and the San Francisco Sunshine Ordinance (San Francisco Administrative Code Chapter 67).
If the City receives a Public Records Request (“Request”) pertaining to this RFI, the City will use its best efforts to notify the affected Respondent(s) of the Request and to provide the Respondent with a description of the material that the City deems responsive and the due date for disclosure (“Response Date”). If the Respondent asserts that some or all of the material requested contains or reveals valuable trade secret or other information belonging to the Respondent that is exempt from disclosure and directs the City in writing to withhold such material from production (“Withholding Directive”), then the City will comply with the Withholding Directive on the condition that the Respondent seeks judicial relief on or before the Response Date. Should Respondent fail to seek judicial relief on or before the Response Date, the City shall proceed with the disclosure of responsive documents.
The City accepts no financial responsibility for any costs incurred by a Respondent in responding to this RFI. Respondents acknowledge and agree that their submissions in response to this RFI will become the property of the City and may be used by the City in any way deemed appropriate.
