    Description

This is a Notice for a Single Source Source designation for Alachua County Board of County Commissioners.

    Commodity or Service Required:

Continuation of Evaluation of Nutrient Sources and Potential Nutrient Reduction Project for Lochloosa Lake

    Justification for Single Source Acquisition:

This work continues/completes the sampling needed for nutrient loading model calibration. Drought conditions did not allow for collection of final needed samples. If DB does not complete this work we would need to essentially start over with another consultant. To date the county has invested over $370,000 in this key project to meet our state Basin Management Action Plan (BMAP) allocation in the Lochloosa watershed by 2030. This monitoring and watershed characterization is helping us make the case for why we have not met our allocations yet and helps tells the story whether assigned allocations are appropriate for Alachua County. All this information will help Alachua County make the most cost-effective decisions for project implementation in this watershed. DB owns the monitoring equipment and so the county would additionally need to pay for new mobilization and demobilization costs in order to get a monitoring network established with a different vendor.

    Recommended Procurement Approach:

For the reason stated above, Alachua County Procurement Division intends to utilize the Single Source Procurement method to contract with DB Environmental Laboratories, Inc.for supplying the above.
