    Description

    Invitation to Bid The City of Rogers will receive sealed bids for the construction of Pleasant Grove Road, Phase II – Southgate Road to Bellview Road. The major items of work associated with construction of Phase II of the Pleasant Grove Road project include: approximately 7,000 LF of 4 or 5-lane wide street construction with additional lanes at 3 intersections along Pleasant Grove Road, approximately 4,000 LF of 1 to 3-lane wide street construction along Pinnacle Hill Parkway, Bellview Road, 43rd Street and the Bellview Elementary School Access/Bus Access roads. Most sections incorporate concrete curb and gutters, concrete intersections, sidewalk and storm drainage. The project also includes 3 detention ponds, traffic signalization at 3 intersections, pavement markings, lighting, electrical and other related items. Planned quantities include over 17,000 tons of asphalt and 10,000 square yards of concrete for the asphalt/concrete pavement design. A Portland Cement Concrete Pavement design is included as an alternative for Pleasant Grove Road, with over 44,000 square yards of concrete. Bids shall be on a unit price basis. A Pre-Bid meeting will be conducted at the Community Room at City Hall, 301 West Chestnut, Rogers, AR 72756, at 2:30 PM, April 14, 2015. Purchase of Bid Documents prior to the Pre-Bid meeting is not required. The City of Rogers will receive Bids until 02:30 PM Local Time on April 30, 2015 in the Community Room at City Hall, 301 West Chestnut, Rogers, AR 72756. Bids received after this time will not be accepted. Bids will be opened and publicly read aloud immediately after specified closing time. All interested parties are invited to attend. Bidding Documents may be purchased and examined at: Southern Reprographics 2905 Point Circle Fayetteville, AR 72704 Copies of the Bidding documents may be obtained at Southern Reprographics in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders upon paying the sum of $250.00 for each set of documents. Return of documents is not required, and amount paid for documents is not refundable. Partial sets are not available. Each Bid must be submitted on the prescribed form and accompanied by a cashier’s check drawn upon a bank or trust company doing business in the state of Arkansas or by a corporate bid bond executed on the prescribed form, payable to the City of Rogers in an amount not less than 5 percent of the amount bid. The attention of the Bidder is directed to the applicable federal and state requirements and conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under this Contract. Pursuant to Arkansas Code Annotated 22-9-203 the City of Rogers encourages all qualified small, minority and women business enterprises to bid on and receive contracts for goods, services, and construction. Also, the City of Rogers encourages all general contractors to subcontract portions of their contract to qualified small, minority, and women business enterprises. The City of Rogers reserves the right to waive irregularities and to reject bids and to postpone the award of the Contract for a period of time which shall not exceed beyond 90 days from the bid opening date.
