AI Summary
City of Brookhaven seeks contractors for the Lake Hearn Drive Sidepath Construction Project involving sidewalk removal, concrete sidepath installation, street light relocation, and landscaping restoration.
The Lake Hearn Drive Sidepath Project will remove approximately 450 linear feet the existing sidewalk along the north side of Lake Hearn Drive from Perimeter Center Parkway to the first driveway to the west and replace it with an ~8 foot wide multiuse sidepath. Work includes demolition, removal, hauling, and disposal of the existing concrete sidewalk, coordination with Georgia Power to move decorative pedestrian street lights from the back side of the existing sidewalk to the beauty strip behind the back of existing concrete curb, grading, compaction, forming, and pouring a new concrete multiuse sidepath. Following installation of the sidepath, the Contractor will restore and install new sod. Minor repairs to existing curb, gutter, and concrete ADA compliant handicap ramps may be required. The Owner has previously signed and pre-paid for Georgia Power to relocate the street lights, and the expected installation time is approximately 2 weeks. The streetlights will be relocated immediately following removal of the existing sidewalk.
