This is including, but not limited to, the installation and repairs of components related to radon mitigation systems and clearances for pre-qualified homes located within all City of Reading zip codes. The EPA estimates that about 1 in 15 homes (-7%) in the U.S. have elevated radon levels. This ranges from about 20% of homes in EPA highest risk radon zone (Zone 1) to about 2% of homes in the lowest risk zone (Zone 3). Many states have also developed radon maps for their states, which use more data than was available for the development of the EPA map in the early 1990's. The average cost of professional radon testing is about $140 for a single-family home with an average mitigation cost of $1,500.
The response to this RFQ shall incorporate adequate information as detailed below for the City's selection committee to evaluate the contractor's ability to meet the needs specified in this proposal. To expedite the review process, please organize the required information in the order listed herein with the submission being concise. This qualification evaluation for professional services is strictly for contractor and personnel qualifications
