    • General Conditions
      • This bid represents a unit price per ton delivered to each participating municipality. Prices include delivery costs.
      • Contract period: Award date through June 30, 2027
      • Quantities are estimates only based on historical usage.
      • Vendors shall not impose penalties, refuse delivery, or increase price if actual quantities vary.
      • Vendor must demonstrate the ability to meet delivery timelines and product specifications.
    • Specifications for Sodium Chloride

      3.1 Quantity (Estimated Total)

      • Combined estimated quantity: ~6330 tons (see Section 5)

      3.2 Chemical Requirements

      • Minimum 95.0% Sodium Chloride (NaCl)
      • No variation permitted

      3.3 Moisture Content

      The moisture content of the sodium chloride at the time of delivery shall be 0.5% or less. Sodium chloride delivered with a moisture content higher than 2.5% will be rejected

      3.5 Treatment

      • Salt must be treated with an anti-caking agent (YPS or approved equal)
      • Application rate:
        • Minimum: 10 PPM
        • Maximum: 50 PPM
      • Colored treatment preferred, except Bar Harbor (Bar Harbor prefers no colorant added)

      4.1 Rejected Deliveries

      Reasons for rejection of loads include, but are not limited to:

      • Moisture > 2.5%
      • Contamination
      • Clumping / not free-flowing
      • Unauthorized delivery

      Removal of rejected loads is at supplier expense at the time of rejection.

      The Cooperative reserves the right to:

      • Award to a single vendor or multiple vendors
      • Split awards by municipality if in best interest

      Payment terms shall be Net 30 days after receipt and acceptance of delivery invoices.

       

      Hardcopy of invoices shall be mailed to each individual Town to the Accounts Receivable address which will be provided to the successful bidder.
