    Bid Posting Date: February 24, 2022 Project: Maintenance of Turf, Landscape and Pond Water Bids Due: Bids will be accepted until 2:00pm local time on March 25, 2022 Pre-Bid Meeting: There will be a non-mandatory Pre-Bid meeting at the office of the Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services Director, 314 Clifton Drive, Valdez, Alaska, 99686 on Friday, March 11, 2022 at 4:00pm local time. This project includes, but is not necessarily limited to: There are three distinct groupings with specific job duties and deadlines. Contract term shall be three (3) years and will contain two (2) one-year renewal options. A contractor may bid on one or all of the groupings and must bid on all schedules within a group. Partial group bids will render the bid unacceptable in its entirety. Take note that Group 2, Invasive Plant Management, requires special certifications/licensing to perform. Group 1 = Ongoing turf and landscape maintenance including cleanup, mowing, trimming, watering, and fertilizing of turf and landscape in parks and public areas within the City of Valdez. Group 2 = Invasive Plant Management with pesticide applications of turf and ponds in parks and public areas within the City of Valdez. Group 3 = Spring cleanup and once-a-month mowing and trimmings of turf in parks and public areas within the City of Valdez. ***BID SUBMISSION LOCATION CHANGE*** Sealed bids will be accepted until 2:00pm local time on Friday, March 25, 2022, at the office of the Capital Facilities Director, 300 Airport Road, Suite 201, Valdez, Alaska 99686. The bids will be publicly opened and read at that time. Questions must be submitted via email to Wendy Robertson. Deadline for questions is Monday, March 14, 2022, at 4:30pm local time. Bid documents may also be downloaded from the links below. The City reserves the right to waive any irregularities or informalities in a quote, to reject any and all quotes without cause, and to re-solicit for quotes. Current minimum prevailing wage rates as published by the Alaska Department of Labor must be paid if required by law. Requirements of the Alaska Employment Preference (AS 36.10) must be met. The City of Valdez encourages disadvantaged, minority and women-owned firms to respond and is available to assist said firms in learning how to do business with the City.
