    The Town of Bedford (Awarding Authority) is soliciting quotes from contractors to provide pickup and recycling of all scheduled mattresses & box springs throughout Bedford for a term of one year (July 1, 2026-June 30, 2027). Quotes are due at the Office of the Department of Public Works, 314 Great Road, Bedford, Massachusetts 01730 by Thursday, May 21, 2026 at 2:00 PM. Quotes shall be emailed to Karen Kennedy (kkennedy@bedfordma.gov). Questions and requests for additional information regarding this RFQ shall be directed to DPW Recycling Coordinator, Liz Antanavica (eantanavica@bedfordma.gov) or 781-918-4261. The contract shall be awarded to the responsible vendor offering mattress/box spring hauling and recycling inclusive of all labor, materials, transport, fuel, insurance, fees and other costs related to providing the service at the lowest price. Pricing must remain firm throughout the contract period, except as described in this contract. Prevailing Wage Rates as determined by the Director of the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development under the provisions of the Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 149, Section 26 to 27H, as amended, apply to this project. It is the responsibility of the Bidder to request if necessary, any additional information on Prevailing Wage Rates for those trades people who may be employed for the proposed work under this contract. The Awarding Authority reserves the right to waive irregularities and to reject any or all responses if it is in the public's interest to do so, and to reject any response if the Awarding Authority determines that such response does not represent the response of a person competent to perform the work as specified.
