Completed bids shall be submitted to the City of Cumberland’s online solicitation website, until but not after 2:00 p.m., local time, on 6/10/2026. All Bids will be virtually released at 2:00 p.m. on that date and available to view on the website. Released bid information does not constitute any award has been made.
This project includes:
This project will extend sewer service to a new bank facility and industrial park along Messick Road within the incorporated boundaries of the City of Cumberland. An 8" sewer main (1,100 LF) will be extended through an existing utility easement to serve the future industrial park which is under development but expected to serve future light industrial manufacturing businesses. A 2" forced sewer main will be extended to the new bank facility which will official open this spring. The majority of the work will occur in the flood plain and is being permitted through MDE.
A "Mandatory PREBID SESSION” for the purpose of answering or obtaining answers to questions of parties interested in performing the work, relative to construction details, will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on 5/19/2026 at the Engineering Conference Room, Public Safety Building, 20 Bedford Street, Cumberland, MD.
A Proposal Guaranty (Bond or Certified Check) in the amount of at least 5% of the total bid shall be submitted with each bid.
The successful bidder will be required to submit a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, for all construction contracts in excess of $100,000, at the time the contract is executed.
The Mayor and City Council reserve the right to waive any technicalities and to reject any or all bids, and to accept any or all proposals which in their judgment is to the best interest of the City.
