    Description

The intent of this bid is to provide a contract for repairs to the existing concrete slabs at the MSW Transfer Station located at 350 Horseblock Road, Brookhaven, New York, to be completed in 2026. Exact locations of slab removal and replacement within the Transfer Station Building will be determined at a later date. General construction in 2026 will consist of the removal and replacement of approximately 4,760 square feet of damaged concrete slab at two (2) designated locations within the facility, as shown on the Contract Drawings and described in the Bid Specifications. Due to the critical operational nature of the MSW Transfer Station and the requirement for rapid return to service (24 hour), all concrete replacement work shall utilize HIGH EARLY STRENGTH CONCRETE. The Contractor shall be fully aware that standard-strength concrete mixes will not be acceptable. Concrete mix designs, placement methods, curing procedures, and construction sequencing shall be specifically selected to achieve accelerated strength gain in accordance with the Contract Specifications and operational requirements of the facility. The Transfer Station will remain open and operational during construction. Work shall be closely coordinated with the Town of Brookhaven, and all activities shall be performed in a manner that minimizes disruption to ongoing operations, maintains safe access, and allows for reopening of repaired slab areas after 24 hours. Contractors shall account for these constraints when preparing their bids. The Contract shall be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder. All work shall be performed in accordance with the Contract Drawings, Specifications, and all applicable local, state, and regulatory requirements Business enterprises awarded an identical or substantially similar procurement contract within the past five years: Stasi General Contracting, LLC
