The New York State Department of State, through its Office for New Americans (ONA), seeks a not-for-profit organization to serve as the North Country Immigrant Program Administrator. Such services include, but are not limited to: Language Support Services: Language access, translation, and interpretation services; Housing Support: Establish relationships with local community stakeholders including landlords, hotel owners, community members, shelters, churches, colleges, Department of Social Services (DSS) and other agencies that can provide housing for those in need; Health Services: Establish relationships to provide referrals for health services, including mental health, develop relationships with local doctors, hospitals and therapists that serve, or would serve, the new American population, and include health service providers in relevant discussions such as roundtables, in order to facilitate and or expand services specifically needed for this population; Social/Human Services: Provide information to clients about how to access different social/ human services including DSS programs and public benefits for which clients are eligible and schedule appointments for clients as needed, and share information about local food shelters and pantries; English Language Support: Provide referrals for access to English language courses, share and have access to ONA’s free mobile English language learning programs for clients needing language assistance, and create and maintain a referral list with free local English language courses including dates and times of classes; Transportation Support: Provide referrals for access to transportation; Canadian Resources: Referrals to providers, including legal assistance and social services, in Canada. Services will not be paid for directly through the contract but will be done by referrals. For additional information, please see the Request for Applications (RFA).
