Notice Inviting Applications From Licensed Contractors for Calendar Year 2026 - List of Qualified Contractors for Informal Projects ($200,000 or Less)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Tustin, California is accepting applications for the City of Tustin CALENDAR YEAR 2026 List of Qualified Contractors for Informal Projects. This list will be used for notification purposes only for certain construction and maintenance related projects required throughout the year.

Background

The City of Tustin is inviting all qualified licensed contractors in the State of California, who wish to be included on the City’s notification list of qualified bidders for informal contracts for calendar year 2026 to submit information as set forth below.

This list will be used to notify contractors of construction and maintenance related projects in accordance with the Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Act, Section 22000 et seq. of the California Public Contract Code, and as set forth in the City of Tustin Municipal Code Section 1627 Informal Bidding Procedure.  Currently, this includes projects with a value of $200,000 or less.

To be included on the City’s list of qualified bidders for informal projects for calendar year 2026, interested qualified licensed contractors shall submit their application to the City of Tustin no later than December 31, 2026.  Prior to award of any contract for any Informal Project, contractor shall be required to submit current proof of insurance that meets City insurance requirements.

Contractor shall provide to the City within ten (10) working days after the date of notice of award of the contract evidence of the aforementioned insurance with insurer endorsements, which must meet the City’s insurance requirements.  An Acord Certificate will be accepted solely as evidence of the name of the insurers and the amounts of insurance.  Failure to comply with these requirements will result in annulment of the award.  Contractor is advised that insurance requirements are non-negotiable and City will not consider waiving insurance requirements.  There are no exceptions.

• Proposals submittal through OpenGov —

• Technical Assistance with OpenGov —

  The City has made every effort to make all aspects of the vendor registration and bidding process as easy, secure and reliable as possible. In order to mitigate any last minute unforeseen technical issues with on-line/electronic bid submissions, we recommend that bidders submit their bid/proposal as early as possible. It is highly recommended to submit bids at least an hour before bid opening to allow OpenGov the time to address and resolve any issues preventing bid submission. It is the responsibility of the prospective bidder to successfully navigate all individual challenges using the on-line/electronic bidding software, unless there is a system-wide failure. All responses are due at or before the time shown on each project. Late responses will not be accepted. The City is not responsible for and accepts no liability in the event a response is late due to network, internet or any other technical problem or interruption.

  Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified cashier’s check, or bid bond, in the amount of  Bid Bond Percentage of the total bid price, payable to  Organization Name, as a guarantee that the bidder, if its bid is accepted, will promptly execute the Agreement. The bidder shall guarantee the total bid price for a period of 60 days from the date of the bid opening.
