The selected provider will be responsible for receiving, operating, storing, maintaining, and staffing an existing MMU vehicle, in accordance with all applicable NYS OASAS, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) requirements. This initiative is made possible by the DEA Final Rule on MMUs and supports NYS OASAS’ ongoing efforts to expand access to medication for opioid treatment, including methadone and buprenorphine, in underserved and high-need communities. NYS OASAS may award up to $250,000 in start-up funding and up to $250,000 in operational funding to one eligible applicant to operate an existing NYS OASAS-owned Mobile Medication Unit (MMU) for a minimum period of two (2) years.
