    Description

    The Port of Long Beach serves as a lead agency under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) to consider the potential environmental impacts of proposed development projects and discretionary actions in the Long Beach Harbor District and on Port-owned properties outside of the Long Beach Harbor District. For projects involving development activities within the Long Beach Harbor District, the Port is responsible for issuance of Harbor Development Permits (consolidated coastal development permit and building permit) consistent with the Certified Port Master Plan, California Coastal Act, and Long Beach City Charter. For development activities involving federal funding or federal agency-issued permits, the Port works closely with federal agency partners for compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).To meet these regulatory requirements, the Port is seeking consultants with specialized knowledge and experience in CEQA, NEPA, and California Coastal Act compliance to provide environmental planning and environmental impact evaluation professional services. These services will support the preparation of well written, legally compliant environmental documents and facilitate the timely advance of Port projects.
