The County of Nevada is requesting statements of qualifications from qualified and licensed firms to provide painting or drywall services for public works projects. Work performed under this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) will be on an as-needed basis, performed throughout Nevada County including the Truckee area. Facilities Maintenance Department needs to contract with painting and drywall firms to complete projects in a timely manner, or when projects require additional painting and drywall specialty experience. The projects are estimated to range from $4,000 to $75,000 per project and an aggregate not to exceed amount for all projects under this Qualified List not to exceed $400,000 annually. The County is seeking firms that are licensed and have strong skills in painting and/or drywall services, with emphasis on related depth of staff resources, and experience in the applicable trade. The purpose of this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) is to establish one Qualified List of Painting and Drywall Contractors. Interested firms must hold a valid California C-33 Painting and Decorating Contractor license and/or a valid California C-9 Drywall license. Per Business and Professions Code (BPC) section 7057 and related provisions, contractors must be approved by the California State License Board (CSLB) and current active status with the Department of Industrial Regulations (DIR). The County expects that the awarded contractor(s) will show experience in performing the requested services themselves or have a subcontractor for any ancillary work they are not experienced in. Description and License requirements for the applicable trade are listed below in the Scope of Work (section 7.) The Qualified list will consist of no more than eight (8) Firms to provide the services described. The resulting Qualified Lists shall be valid for 2 years from the date of award with three (3) One (1) year options to renew the services. The two service categories are as follows: Painting and Decorating C- 33 Painting C-33 Drywall C-9 Firms or individuals who intend to submit a proposal must have the experience or knowledge to complete the trades listed below. If a proposal is received and does not show experience and knowledge or include subcontractors for the listed trades the proposal will be deemed disqualified. The proposing Painter or Drywaller and all listed subcontractors must have the appropriate California Contractor license for the category(ies) of work they will provide. In addition, a Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) number is also required at the time of proposal for the General Contractor and each subcontractor. This RFQ includes a description of the scope of work, proposal requirements, and instructions for submitting your proposal.
