The Office of the State Comptroller has granted the Office of Mental Health (OMH) permission to extend their contract with Mental Health Empowerment Project (MHEP)/C020709 to maintain the current Certification Board for New York Certification Board for New York Certified Peer Specfialists. This was a competitively bid/procured contract originally. The request to maintain for an additional 3 months was due to the fact that in the procurement (September 2022), there was an oversight on part of OMH and a solicitation email was not sent. This was brought to OMH's attention when no questions were posed during the Q&A period, so there was minimal awareness of the existence of the RFP. In order to solicit appropriately, we had to extend the timeline of the RFP process and hence had to extend the contract with the current contract holder (MHEP). This notice serves as OMH's published requirement of this action. This is not a bid. "Pursuant to the New York State Finance Law Sections 139-j and 139-k, the Procurement Lobby Act applies to this Solicitation. This restricted period is currently in effect and will end with the formal approval by OSC of this contractual agreement."
