Background

The City of Cambridge Capital Building Projects Department is seeking services for the replacement of the existing gas-fired boiler at the Porter Square Firehouse, located at 2029 Massachusetts Ave. The current Weil-McLain boiler, installed in the 1990s, has exceeded its useful life and serves as the sole source of hot water and heating for the facility. To ensure system reliability and energy efficiency, the City intends to replace the existing system with high efficiency condensing boilers. All work will be carried out while the firehouse remains fully occupied and operational.
