Project Project Description The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) is administering a project to reconstruct Taxiway Delta at Republic Airport, located in the Hamlet of East Farmingdale, Town of Babylon, Suffolk County. NYSDOT is the owner of Republic Airport. The taxiway improvement work incorporated in this contract includes: · Rehabilitating Taxiway Delta – associated taxiway connector pavements, demolition and new full depth pavement, · Installing guidance signs, edge lighting and pavement markings, and · Improving drainage. Schedule Scheduled Letting date of March 26, 2026, with an expected project construction completion of December 31, 2027. Pre-bid meeting scheduled March 10, 2026. Site visits will be available, by appointment only. Bid Conditions: Funding/Goals – This project is anticipated to be Federally funded, from a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airport Improvement Program (AIP) grant. The Contractor will not be allowed to start any work on the contract until after a grant agreement is executed between the FAA and NYSDOT which is anticipated in the Fall of 2026. Bidders shall adjust their bids accordingly and shall anticipate an extended Award period. · The project is located within the airfield side of the airport. Specific accessibility information and procedures will be provided in the contract bid documents. The Contractor will have to coordinate with the Airport’s Operations Manager for site access. This project requires close coordination with Republic Airport. The contractor must coordinate and schedule their construction activities with the Airport’s Manager and Engineer-in-Charge. he Contractor shall adhere to the Construction Safety and Phasing Plans (CS&PP), as provided with the contract bid documents. Some work phases will require the closure of Runway 14-32. Total Construction Duration = 28 consecutive weeks. Liquidated Damages are proposed for each proposed phase.
