    Description

Overview The New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (NYS OASAS) recognizes the need for a comprehensive response to prevent and reduce the harms associated with gambling across the lifespan, from youth through older adults. To address this, NYS OASAS will fund community-based prevention providers to conduct a comprehensive needs assessment. The needs assessment will identify local conditions contributing to gambling harms in their community, implement Environmental Change Strategies (ECS) and other evidence-based prevention strategies to address the local conditions identified in the comprehensive needs assessment. The prevention providers will develop and implement sustainable prevention programming within their community specifically related to the prevention and risk reduction of the harms associated with gambling. Funding Available Approximately 20 awards will be available for up to $150,000 each per year for a period of five years.
