The objective of this invitation to bid is to select a produce supplier for delivery of fresh and pre-cut fruits and vegetables as requested in this bid for the Alcoa City, Maryville City and Blount County School’s Child Nutrition Programs. Each school has their own independent School Food Authority (SFA) and in association with their schools are reference hereinafter as “SFA/Schools”. The quantities represented in the “Line Items” tab of the online bidding system are totals of the three District’s estimated usage quantities combined. Terms of the bid, if awarded, shall apply to all three District’s programs with a Contract for each District. This bid is being requested in this manner to determine the best supplier to meet the system’s unique needs for the items requested in this bid document. All food must be processed and packaged under the best possible sanitary conditions in accordance with local, State and Federal rules, laws and regulations. (Ex. Health regulations, Federal regulations in the Sanitary Food Transportation Act of 1990 and all Child Nutrition Program Rules and Regulations). All items within this bid are to be purchased by and used in the School’s Child Nutrition Program. Individual items should be priced according to the item’s specified structure. If items are not available from the contract Vendor, the school nutrition program (SNP) also reserves the right to purchase from a qualified Vendor(s) in accordance with the School’s purchasing and bid thresholds. Any brand names given are for the purpose of identifying the required standard of quality for those products and only offering the same level of quality and identifiable standards will be considered. Vendors are not to offer any item presenting less quality.
