    Description

    The City of Costa Mesa, California (City) is soliciting a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the selection of an Architectural / Engineering firm for the partial redesign of the Westside Sub Station (the project).The project work requiring architectural design services include:• A renovation and redesign of the multi-occupancy, multi-gendered restroom to satisfy ADA requirements. The facilities shall include two (2) standard stalls and one (1) ADA accessible stall, in addition to a communal sink area. The existing storage closet can be demoed to allow additional space for the facilities. Sewer piping will need to be removed and replaced to rid the current system of any corroded or piping in unacceptable condition.• Renovation and redesign of the private restroom near the west entrance of the station. The restroom is to be widened to allow additional space for occupants. Sewer piping will need to be removed and replaced to rid the current system of any corroded or piping in unacceptable condition.• Existing walls separating the private office from the communal work area shall be demolished. Wall and windows separating the active police communal work area and the front entrance area shall be demolished and rebuilt to exclude any windows and a more secure door. Walls for existing front counter office, opposite the main entrance, shall be demolished, along with counters.• New partition with access doors to be constructed.• New HVAC units, including any accommodations to ensure structural integrity of existing roof will not be compromised, including new ducting in area of proposed upgrades.• New ACT ceiling below existing ceiling.• Convert existing “COATS ROOM” into coffee bar area and demo existing wall separating room from communal work area.• Update electrical subpanel to assist in accommodating additional loads.Other cosmetic and construction work to be performed not requiring architectural design or input include:• Abatement (ceiling, floors, and walls)• Prepping, priming, and painting existing walls within limits of work.• Removing and replacing existing floors with Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) within limits of work.• Embed all wall mounted electrical within limits of work.• Removing and replacing all lighting within limits of work.• Removing all of the cubicles and desks and replacing them with units chosen by the CitySee marked up plan sheet in Appendix A for limits of work and locations of items listed above.The City’s goal is to have a proposal for the professional services needed to complete this project.
