    Description

    The intent of this Request for Proposal is to select Consultant(s) with experience in electric utility underground electrical civil work and related services, specific to California, to augment staffing functions of the Electric Utility Department. The Consultant must be a licensed Electrical Contractor in California and provide all necessary equipment, safety signage, and insurance coverage, including professional liability and workers’ compensation, with the City named as an additional insured. Services include a range of tasks such as trenching, structure setting, repair of vaults, staking, conduit installations within/on bridge crossings, and vault grade adjustment. The Consultant is required to contact the CEU inspector prior to backfilling any work. The consultant must be experienced or have the ability to subcontract for directional boring. The consultant must have the ability to obtain/subcontract to obtain permits through various agencies, such as Railroad, Caltrans, Flood Control, and neighboring electric utilities. The City makes no guarantee as to the amount of work to be requested under any resultant professional services agreement. The initial three-year contract term may be extended for up to two one-year extensions based on department workload and satisfactory performance.
