Set 30 years in the future, this experience engages participants ages 9+ in collaborative problem-solving, systems thinking, and scientific exploration across realistically themed environments. This experience is made up of multiple mission areas: A Mars lander and habitat, a space capsule and space station, and a Misson Operations Control Room (MOCR). Each mission area will be supported by a SAM, (Strategic Assistance & Monitoring) an AI character. The purpose for this RFP is to have interested and prequalified professionals provide a proposal which details the design and installation of the Project Astra Simulator for the new Inspiration 4 Skills Training Building currently under construction at the campus of the U.S. Space & Rocket Center, Huntsville, AL 35805. Due to the nature of this training equipment and its installed location, only vendors who have been approved to bid pursuant to pre-qualification procedures and criteria established by the Owner will be eligible to bid for the Project. Written prequalification procedures and criteria are available for review at the office of Sam Mitchell, Director of Procurement, U.S. Space and Rocket Center. All potential bidder may also send an official request for the Prequalification Criteria via email to samm@spacecamp.com The selection criteria for all submitted responsible sealed bids will be based on facility compatibility, camp curriculum, participant challenges, as well as pricing.
