    PUBLIC NOTICE The Joint Meeting of Essex and Union Counties (JMEUC) at 500 South First Street, Elizabeth, NJ 07202 will sell NJ Class 1 RECs on Tuesday, July 28, 2026. The sale will be conducted via online auction from 12pm to 1pm by Taurus Advisory Group LLC. There will be 13,000 NJ Class I RECs available for purchase. Buyers can bid on 6,500 Vintage 2027 RECs and 6,500 Vintage 2028 RECs. The winning bidder will be responsible for paying a fee equivalent to 0.5% of the total purchase price to the auction provider. In the event bids are accepted, the contract will be executed on the day of the auction. The contracting unit reserves the right, at its sole discretion and subject to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-15, to extend the contract by mutual written agreement of the parties, by resolution of the governing body, for [one (1) two-year period] or [up to two (2) successive one-year periods], provided that the total contract term, including all extensions, shall not exceed five (5) consecutive years. The price of RECs under any extension shall not be fixed at the original auction price, but shall be negotiated to reflect prevailing market conditions for NJ Class I RECs of the applicable energy year as of the date of extension.
