Wages. Salary rates and the classification of employees shall be as specified in the Solicitation Documents and Contract Documents. The rates of pay set forth in the Solicitation Documents are the minimum that shall be paid during the life of the Contract. Delivery shall be made directly to designated areas within Public Works buildings, as specified by the Department of Public Works. This will include a minimum of three(3) specific areas:

The successful bidder shall provide newly conditioned lockers and keys for each uniformed employee, approximately 115 employees.
Each garment shall contain a label identifying the manufacturer, the wearer, and the contents of the fabric. Shirts and outerwear shall be embroidered with employee's name. The contractor’s driver, assigned to collect the soiled clothing from and deliver the laundered clothing to the Department’s facility, shall be required to inventory all items delivered, and collected. The number, description, and the name of the assigned employee, of all items delivered and collected shall be recorded on a weekly sheet. A copy of this sheet, reconciled with the inventory count on a weekly basis, shall be provided to the Department. The contractor will not be compensated for any services performed on items not accounted for or recorded on the weekly reconciliation sheet.

The department has approximately 115 employees requiring uniforms. These employees are assigned across multiple divisions, each with specific uniform requirements based on job functions.
At a minimum, each employee will be issued 10 shirts, 10 pants, and 2 jackets. Uniforms are expected to be maintained and rotated on a weekly basis.

Prior to, and as a condition of the award, the successful bidder shall be required to supply samples of all articles to be awarded under the terms of this agreement. The items shall be returned upon completion of inspection and evaluation.
It is understood that all costs associated with providing the items and services herein described are to be included in the Unit Bid Prices. Absolutely no hidden costs or additional costs shall be allowed under this contract, including restocking fees or delivery fees.

When this contract or agreement includes the construction of and/or the addition to a permanent structure or building; including the installation of machinery and/or equipment, the following insurance coverage must be afforded:
Coverage Form: Completed Value, All Risk in an amount equal to 100% of the value upon completion or value of equipment to be installed.
If any policy is written on a “Claims Made” basis, the policy must be continually renewed for a minimum of two years from the completion date of this contract. If the policy is replaced and/or the retroactive date is changed, then the expiring policy must be endorsed to extend the reporting period for claims for the policy in effect during the contract for two) years from the completion date.
Original, completed Certificates of Insurance must be presented to the City of New Haven via Certificial prior to contract issuance. Contractor/Vendor agrees to provide replacement/renewal certificates at least 30 days prior to the expiration date of the policies. Should any of the polices be cancelled, limits reduced, or coverage altered, 30 days written notice must be given to the City.
