The Department of Military Affairs intends to award a one-time contract to a qualified contractor to recycle mattresses that have reached the end of life. The contractor will provide supervision and transportation required to collect approximately 1,400 twin-size mattresses located at Camp Ripley, 15000 Highway 115, Little Falls, Minnesota; and haul to a recycling facility. The selected recycling facility must be capable of either completely dismantling the mattresses to their core components for transformation into new materials, or disassembling the mattresses for complete refurbishment (e.g., reusing steel components and recycling textiles). The mattresses must not be redistributed or reused in their current form. Camp Ripley personnel will load the mattresses into the contractor’s transport unit (truck, trailer, roll-off, etc.), arranging them to maximize allowable load capacity. The transport unit should be large enough to transport at least 200 twin-size mattresses per load. The contractor shall be responsible for transporting and delivering the mattresses to the designated recycling facility; unload of mattresses may be required. All project requirements can be referenced (and thus, shall be in accordance with) Exhibit C of the Sample Contract.
