Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon and Fire Station Advance Warning System Upgrade Project

The City of Suisun (City) is seeking a contractor to install Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons and associated improvements on Pintail Drive at Crane Drive, as well as to upgrade the advance warning system at the fire station, including installing new street light poles equipped with mast arms to support the upgraded warning devices.

Background

This project is located in Suisun City and consists of improvements at two separate sites within the City. Both locations are situated in close proximity to nearby schools; therefore, construction activities are to be scheduled during the students’ summer break to minimize disruptions to school operations, traffic, and pedestrian activity.

The project includes, but is not limited to, the following improvements:

a) Pintail Drive at Crane Drive

• Installation of Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFBs)
• Construction of ADA-compliant curb ramps
• Installation of curb extensions (bulb-outs)
• Pavement conform work
• Installation of updated roadway signage
• Installation of high-visibility crosswalk markings, as well as associated striping and pavement markings

b) Fire Station on Pintail Drive between E. Wigeon Way and Cackling Drive

• Replacement of the existing advance warning system mounted on current street light poles
• Installation of new street light poles equipped with mast arms to support upgraded warning devices
