    Questions & Answers

Q (Fire Protection Filed Sub-Bid): The Fire Protection work is exclusively in Alternate 1. How should the FP Contractor fill out the bid form? Should Zero dollars be put in for the bid amount and then the full bid price on the Alternate 1 line? Please clarify.

A: Yes, you would put zero in the base bid and the full price for alternate 1. See section B of the Filed Sub Bid Form "Enter the lump sum price for all work within this trade that is designated as Base Bid scope in the Contract Documents. If all of your trade's work is Add Alternate scope only, enter "$0.00 — All work is Alternate scope" in the figures line above and note accordingly in words."

Q (No subject): Are federal funds being used for this project?

A: No federal funding is being used as part of this project.

Q (Plumbing Filed Sub-Bid): We are bidding on the plumbing section of the Marblehead Mary Alley Municipal Building. We have the following questions for clarification: The fixtures on P100A are noted to be included as Alternate #2. There is an EWC-1 drinking fountain fixture that does not include that note. Is this fixture to also be included as part of Alternate #2 or the base bid? Also, is the underground plumbing noted on P100U which serves the above noted fixtures to be provided under the base bid or as part of Alternate #2? There is not a clear note or line of delineation to show what work is covered as base bid or alternate #2. Also, is the above grade plumbing noted on P100A which serves the above noted fixtures to be provided under the base bid or as part of Alternate #2? There is not a clear note or line of delineation to show what work is covered as base bid or alternate #2. Please advise.

A: Please view Addendum No. 1

Q (Miscellaneous Metals): Please confirm that the structural steel scope shown on drawings S00, S100 & S200 are not part of the Misc. Metals FSB.

A: Correct, the structural steel scope shown on drawings S00, S100 & S200 are not part of the Misc. Metals FSB scope.

Q (No subject): What is the anticipated new line voltage for the elevator machine room disconnect?

A: The line voltage for the elevator machine room disconnect is 208V, consistent with the existing building electrical service.

Q (No subject): We asked a question back on 4/15 at 11:59 a.m.; however, our question was never answered.

A: Please refer to addendum 1.
