The State University Construction Fund (SUCF) is seeking Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) from consultants to provide design and construction administration services for the Replace Windows in Various Buildings for Energy Improvement project at the State University of New York College at Buffalo. The Project will replace the windows in Upton Hall, DeWitt Clinton Center, and the Central Heating Plant with new aluminum windows and incorporate Low-E, double pane, insulated glazing and comply with the current NYS energy Conservation Construction Code requirements. Upton Hall, constructed in 1962, is a 194,400 sq ft campus academic building. The building’s operable windows and clerestory windows are original single-glazed units with clear anodized aluminum frames. Dewitt Clinton Center, constructed in 1979, is 25,700 sq ft and serves as the campus maintenance and operations building. Some of the windows were replaced in 2012, however, the windows appear to be in poor condition. Other windows are original double-glazed units with black anodized aluminum frames that are not thermally broken. The Central Heating Plant, constructed in 1953, is 20,400 sq ft, and an eligible historic building. The operable windows and clerestory windows are original single-glazed units with rusted steel frames that are not thermally broken. The construction value is estimated to be approximately $11,392,000.
