    The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) has released a Request for Information (RFI) seeking available marketplace information regarding continued use of low-band VHF truck radios while original equipment manufacturers (OEM) transition truck roof materials from metal to composites, causing an issue with mounting the radio antennas and getting an adequate antenna ground plane. Responsive and responsible vendors interested in receiving notification of the RFI updates documents should submit a brief, one-page Letter of Interest (LOI) to Dawn.Turgeon@dot.ny.gov. The LOI should include, at a minimum: the firm name, address, contact person name, email address, phone number. The RFI response due date of August 25, 2026, is subject to change.
