Pursuant to Education Code 17545, the District intends to sell the following equipment: Star Trac Fitness Equipment The various pre-owned fitness equipment items have been used by staff and students at South High School, for approximately the past 10-13 years. Additional information regarding the devices is provided below: Guidelines and Purchase Proposal Requirements All proposals must include a purchase quote for the entire lot of equipment. All sales will be final. All purchase proposals must include a per unit purchase price, including any applicable schedule of deductions based on the condition of the equipment with clear detail of condition grading. All purchase proposals must include onsite pick up, packaging, and shipping services. The District shall not be responsible for shipping the fitness equipment. All purchase proposals must contain clear instructions and explanation of the District's responsibility in preparing fitness equipment for sale. All purchase proposals must be submitted online to the District via the web platform below. https://www.bidnetdirect.com/california/torranceunifiedschooldistrict Miscellaneous Information There will be a mandatory buyer interest meeting at South High School, on Thursday May 21, 2026, at 10:00 AM (PDT), for interested buyers to view the fitness equipment. The meeting will provide an overview of the sale requirements, allow interested buyers to inspect the pre-owned equipment, and ask additional questions. Participation is required in order to submit a purchase proposal. Failure to attend the meeting could disqualify the interested buyer. The District reserves the right to reject any, or all received purchase proposals, and waive any irregularities or informalities in any of the received purchase proposals. No respondent shall withdraw any proposal for a period of ninety (90) calendar days after the date set for the opening of proposals. It is each respondent’s sole responsibility to ensure its purchase proposal is timely delivered and received online via the designated due date and web link specified above. The District shall not be responsible for any delivery issues. Each respondent shall be required to provide proof of adequate liability and auto insurance coverages needed to safely remove and ship the equipment away from the campus. Inquiries and Clarifications. This document is for informational purposes and shall not relieve the respondent of the requirements to fully become familiarized with all the factors affecting their purchase proposal. The respondent is advised that all inquiries and clarifications about the RFP documents, specifications, etc., shall be submitted to the District in writing no later than Tuesday, May 26, 2026, by 2:00 PM (PDT). The District will respond at its earliest possible opportunity, but no later than Friday, May 29, 2026. Verbal communication by either party with regard to this matter is invalid.
